Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is the independent statutory body in Queensland responsible for regulating safety and health in the state’s resource industries.
About the Resources Medical Advisory Committee
The Resources Medical Advisory Committee (RMAC) provides independent, strategic medical advice to RSHQ and the Minister to support the regulatory framework in place to protect the occupational health of Queensland’s resource sector workers, including coal and minerals mining, quarrying, petroleum and gas, and explosives industries.
Advice provided by RMAC allows RSHQ to ensure health policy development and preventative measures for resource sector workers evolve in line with advances in medical knowledge, technology, best practice, and changes to occupational health risks to improve safety and health outcomes for Queensland resource sector workers.
Expressions of interest
RSHQ is seeking expressions of interest from medical disciplines relevant to mining and other resource industry workers’ health, including:
- occupational physicians
- respiratory physicians
- radiologists
- epidemiologists
- international experts in the above fields.
Other specialists who have relevant expertise, knowledge and experience in mining and other related industries may also be considered.
Applicants will be evaluated on relevant experience in their field of medical expertise, experience in the resource industry and value they can bring to RMAC in addition to the mandatory requirements being met.
